We're Growing Our Pack in Reading

We can’t get enough Reading—and we have two big announcements to share.

Our involvement in the 186 Summer Avenue renovation has caused something we didn’t even realize was possible: we’ve fallen even more in love with the Reading community.

With so much going on in Reading, we have some exciting news: Wilson Wolfe is opening a Reading satellite office and welcoming two new agents to our pack!

In addition to maintaining our primary office in Wilmington, Massachusetts, we're adding a satellite office at 159 Haven Street in downtown Reading. While our Wilmington office will continue to be our main hub, this new office will make us even more accessible to our Reading clients

The Mary Ann Quinn Group is well-known in the area, and we are thrilled to have Mary Ann and her team join Wilson Wolfe Real Estate. We're also delighted to have seasoned and trusted agent Stephanie Macfarland, formerly of Premier Realty Group, join us.

Like me, both Mary Ann and Stephanie are proud Reading residents with deep ties to the community. Mary Ann raised her family in Reading and has lived here for nearly forty years. Before Stephanie became a Realtor in 2013, she worked at her family’s business located right in Reading Center.

Most importantly, they share our commitment to putting clients first and bring the experience necessary to navigate the rapidly changing market.

"Co-broke or Go Broke" is something we've been saying for decades at Wilson Wolfe, and it's never been more relevant than it is now. After the summer's historic federal settlement with the National Association of Realtors, major changes to commission agreements have gone into effect. As of August 17, 2024, buyers must sign a contract with their agent and are responsible for paying their agent’s commission unless otherwise arranged by the seller.

At Wilson Wolfe, we believe the key to a smooth transaction that benefits all parties involved is a partnership between agents that emphasizes integrity, communication, and collaboration. We love that Mary Ann and Stephanie bring that same approach to their work!

We asked Mary Ann and Stephanie some questions to help you get to know them, and here's what they had to say.

Meet Mary Ann Quinn

After a very successful career in banking, Mary Ann has been a full-time Realtor since 1990, representing buyers and sellers during one of life’s most meaningful milestones with empathy, integrity, and experience. Mary Ann and her husband Bob also raised their two children in Reading and are delighted to continue to live near their daughter and grandchildren, who also reside in Reading.

What can buyers and sellers expect when working with you as their agent?

“My clients deserve and receive unparalleled service and representation. I pride myself in guiding my clients through a high-stakes life event with their best possible outcome in mind.”

What are your favorite things to do in Reading?

“Long walks in our beautiful town forest are a favorite way to pass the time. I also enjoy participating in a fiction book club at Whitelam Books. And, of course, unless I am with a client or hosting an open house, you can find me cheering on my grandchildren who play multiple sports in Reading.”

Wilson Wolfe has a longstanding tradition of giving back to the community. What causes are closest to your heart?

“I love staying active in the community by volunteering, participating, or sponsoring activities at Killam Elementary School, Mission of Deeds, Burbank YMCA, Reading Food Pantry, Reading Youth Sports, and Merrimack College.

My other passion is Greyhounds. I support several Greyhound Rescue organizations throughout the state. For the past 20 years, one (or more) of these beautiful animals has been part of our family. Since Greyhound Racing has been outlawed in most states, we are now seeing an influx of these beautiful animals from Ireland and the United Kingdom. I hope to use my network to help find loving homes for what will be an abundance of these dogs.”

What advice do you have for buyers and sellers looking to make a move this year?

“When it comes to the current market, my advice is to find a top-notch professional to shepherd your family through the process of buying and selling.”

How are you feeling about becoming a part of Wilson Wolfe?

“I am honored to become one of the pack! When thinking about making a change, Wilson Wolfe was the first company that came to mind. I want to be associated with a firm where clients’ interests are the top priority.”

Meet Stephanie Macfarland

Stephanie has been a Realtor since 2013, working with buyers and sellers to simplify the path to their home goals. With a degree in marketing, advertising, and public relations and experience working in her family’s small business, she prides herself on excellent customer service and negotiation. Stephanie, who grew up in Reading and graduated from Reading Memorial High School,  resides in town with her husband and two daughters.

What can buyers and sellers expect when working with you as their agent?

“My clients are my top priority. With honest advice, plenty of communication, and the highest level of customer service every step of the way, I always aim to get my clients the best results possible. For me, it's not only about the sale— it's about my clients' best interest and building lasting relationships.”

What are your favorite things to do in Reading?

“I love living in Reading. My family attends many community events yearly, like the Fall Street Faire, downtown trick or treating, and the Holiday Tree Lighting. We enjoy many local shops and restaurants. We are very lucky to have so many small businesses in town to choose from!”

Wilson Wolfe has a longstanding tradition of giving back to the community. What causes are closest to your heart?

“The Arts are very close to my heart. I was in the drama club in high school, and now my daughters are involved in theatre, chorus, and dance. I love finding opportunities to support these important programs with program book ads, raffle, and concession donations. You can often find me volunteering in the lobby or selling raffle tickets, snacks, and grams to help raise money!”

What advice do you have for buyers and sellers looking to make a move this year?

“The local market remains very competitive. For buyers, it is essential to prepare before jumping into house hunting. Meet with a buyer's agent who specializes in the areas you are looking in, get pre-approved, and understand the buying process. For sellers, preparation still matters! Although inventory remains low and it's still a "seller's market,"  you must get your property ready. Staging, marketing, and pricing strategy are crucial if you want the highest and best offer for your home. An experienced agent is an important part of your team and will guide you through the process.”

How are you feeling about becoming a part of Wilson Wolfe?

“I am beyond excited to join Wilson Wolfe! We share the same business values and love for our clients. I look forward to growing my business and our new Reading office. Our team is primed for success and eager to serve clients in the community!”
